RipStik Casterboard

My son got this contraption for Christmas. It's a RipStik Casterboard. Unlike a skateboard, which has 1 platform and 4 total wheels on 2 axels, this thing has 2 platforms, and only 2 wheels on casters. According to the video below, "if you can learn to ride a bike, you can learn to ride a RipStik." Well, I love riding my bike, so...

"Step 1: Get familiar with your RipStik." OK, done.

Quick! Let's get together and patent some sort of uni-stick for the kids of the future before it's too late!
There aren't enough dislocated shoulders, cracked teeth, busted lips and fractured tibias.

I'm still going with pillows and duct tape as the safest way to test this thing. Esp. since I've seen both your driveway and your street. Our neighbor's kid is pretty good, if G is looking ripstik master.

I like you idea Kyle, but it might still be too safe for future extreme sportsters. I'm imagining something more like a bed-of-nails balanced on a bowling ball and set on fire. The object is balance on it naked while coasting downhill at breakneck speed. Of couse, the rider should always wear a helmet and elbow/knee pads...for safety

Why did the unicycle go out of style? That's no platform and one wheel. Sometimes they don't even have the seat. There's something classy about the unicycle that these new fangled contraptions don't have.

I agree. I hope to see someone enter the Tour De France on a Unicycle soon.

im 15 and my brother has a ripstik. I know simply riding around the street on these things wont kill you or hurt you badly.
this only happpens when they start trying tricks, in which case its no worse than a skateboard.
and its atcually not that hard after you get the hang of it. im thinking of getting my own =]
