What I'm Reading and what I SHOULD be reading.

I recently completed John Irving's Last Night in Twisted River, and excellent book that I loved (I am unapologetically a John Irving fan, so your mileage may vary). Before that I was reading Pat Conroy's South of Broad, which I hated (despite being a Pat Conroy fan) so I stopped. I restarted it after Twisted River, but then stopped again, after realizing that the only thing I hated more than not finishing a book, was actually reading THAT book. I have a stack of books I've received as Christmas and Birthday gifts and plan to read them all. I am partially through Blink, a non-fiction book by Malcom Gladwell about quick decision making. Here's the rest of the line up:

  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
  • Angels & Demons by Dan Brown
  • Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
  • The Complete Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook by Piven & Borgenicht
  • Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton

I don't blame you for not finishing the one you don't like. So many books, so little time. I've always said that you are REALLY STACKED!

I have read HITCHIKER'S about 5 times. If you read the first, at least read the first three of the trilogy. I was warned by an avid reader to avoid ANGELS at all costs - let me know how it goes. BLUE is really cool, and I am very interested in PIRATE. Let me know on that one.
