Too Far Afoot

It's been almost two weeks since I injured my ankle. A severe High Ankle Sprain, just like the athletes, except that in my case the sport was stepping out of my attic. My doc said I would have been better off breaking it. "Thanks doc, I'll keep that in mind for next time." Even though I may have been sidelined from any competitive attic stepping, I am finally off crutches and into a giant boot. The foot still hurts but my armpits feel much better. The doc says I'll be several weeks in the boot and then need a few weeks of physical therapy before any mountain biking, backpacking, or competitive attic stepping re-enter my routine.

Meanwhile, all the recent foot resting allowed me to finish reading The Indian Water Chronicles, by Peter Fromm. It was as good as Alan and Kyle promised. Since it's about a guy surviving a winter in the Idaho wilderness, I highly recommend you read it with a bag of ice on your bare foot.

I'm guessing that even without the swelling and discoloration, that's one ugly foot.

Man, is that a foot or a short-fingered latex glove overfilled to bursting with banana pudding?

Seriously, now is my chance to best you at competitive attic stepping. Consider me in training.

Feet, Man. I never can NOT throw-up at the sight of the male foot.
Glad you read that book.
What a fine book. Lots of killing.

Nobody commented on the title to this post. TOO FAR AFOOT is another palindrome. Ahhh, I'm so clever.

I thought it was a play on your tribal name, Toofa Rafoot. My bad.

Just do like my old baseball coach used to say when we got hurt. "Boy, just rub some dirt on it...you'll be okay!"

Ouch Ouch Ouch.

Are you fanning out your toes or is that really how they are? It kind of looks like your normal toes want nothing to do with that rogue second toe.

I saw an ape foot once. It had a thumb and everything! Much like that.

At least you did not fall down in the middle of the street while trying to step off the curb. How embarrasing. My war wounds are healing though and fortunately I did not break anything. Hope you are getting better!
